Thanksgiving might be weeks away, but the fun of enjoying turkey meal has began! If you're looking for something different this year, try the Chinese style BBQ-roasted turkeys, you might be surprised how good they are.
The
Chinatown BID invited members of the English media to
Golden City Seafood Restaurant and enjoyed a wonderful Chinese style Thanksgiving dinner. The Chinese roasted turkeys are carefully steeped in a soy sauce marinade spiked with star anise, two different kinds of vinegar and sweet syrup. The turkey is then roasted, giving way to a crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, sweet and savory turkey. Prepared similarly to traditional Chinese roasted duck, the turkeys have a crispy, seared skin and better-preserved juices than oven-roasted turkey. Stuffing is also done Chinese style - sticky rice with sausage, mushrooms and other variations of ingredients.
Some Chinatown restaurants are offering turkey meal, prices range from $30 to $60 depending on size, for complete listing,
