I've heard of the Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival for over 10 years, but today was the first time I went to cover the event. It was pretty amazing!
This year mark the 15th anniversary of the festival, there were over 150 teams competed in 16 racing divisions. More than half of the teams are visiting teams, coming from other parts of the country, and some from overseas, such as Macau and Tianjin University.
If you've never been to the event, or you want to see some real competition, you can go to Long Beach on Sunday for the finals.
