Day of the Death

It was a total coincident.

Today's training ride started from the Griffith Park. As we passed by the Autry National Center, I saw a group of recumbent bike riders gathered there (and later saw them on the road). There were a few displays in front of the center that actually caught my attention. I was later told by one of the riders, they were having a Day of the Death event.

After finishing our 28.5 miles ride around 11am, I decided to ride back to the Autry and find out more. In fact the actual event Vivan Los Muertos! Day of the Dead Celebration didn't start until 3pm, but some exhibitors have set up their booths with colorful decorations, and pictures of people they're remembering.

This "rider" caught my attention. When I approached the booth, a lady saw me in my bike gear, told me they're remembering their brother Jerry, who loved to bike along the San Gabriel River bike path.
