In the era of internet and social media, today's kids are exposed to much more information than we did. A 2007 article in the American Psychological Association's Monitor magazine quoted a study that found 42% of kids between the ages of 10 and 17 had been exposed to online porn in the past year, either accidentally or on purpose.
So, even though you didn't supply the magazine (or any other 'related' information), they'll get it from someone/somewhere else. Of course it is awkward to discuss porn with you son, but hey, isn't this part of sex education?
Anyway, if you're interested in ready what the author has to say, or the comments by other readers, you can read the full story. Oh yea, no, my dad has never taught me anything about porn.
