Have unwanted prescription drugs at home? Don't flash them away, hand them over to the law enforcement officers.

If you have old/expired prescription medicines and not sure what to do with them, it's best to dump them at your nearby county sheriff stations this weekend. Disposing of medicines this way may also be a nice gesture for the environment.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is coordinating a special day for people to turn in prescription drugs anonymously — no questions asked — at police stations and other locations around the country. Then, they will destroy the drugs.

Items NOT accepted: injectable drugs, I.V. medicines or anything with needles."Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine" aren't welcome either.

Find your local drop off locations here.
