Front rows, go first, including go down first!

When you book for a seat on the plane, have you ever think of "is there any safest seat"? Well, obviously no one is thinking about a plane crash, before, during or after booking his/her ticket. But seriously, if you knew certain seats were "safer" than the other, would you book those seats, even paying for a higher fee?

From time to time we read about news of plane crash, sometime everyone aboard died, sometime there are survivors. Is there any safest seat on a plane? According to statements from Boeing or the FAA, there's no safest seat. But in an article that I read from Popular Mechanics website, it says "actually there is -- it's safer in the back." According to the article, passengers near the tail of a plane are about 40% more likely to survive a crash than those in the first few rows up front.

In 11 of the 20 crashes (all in the US) they studied, rear passengers clearly fared better, only 5 incidents favored those in the front. So, who sits in the front rows? Well, first class and business class people right? They usually board and disembark first, so if this report was right, then in the case of a plane crash, yes, they will go down first too!

Regardless what the "truth" is, I hope everyone has a safest seat and safest-flight. No crash! full story
